About HyzerFlipped

A hyzer flip is a disc golf throw — the disc is released on hyzer angle, flips up to flat using its natural turn, often flies straight, and fades at the end. This site catalogues discs and the throws you make them do.

Data sources

Flight numbers are compiled from manufacturer catalogs and reviewed disc-shop listings. We list primary sources in the dataset:

About the old WordPress site

HyzerFlipped was originally a small WordPress blog (WP 4.9.8 → 5.x) covering disc golf events, courses, and disc reviews. That site was decommissioned when the domain was renewed under a different status. The old content is preserved in this repository under archive/ — pulled from the Internet Archive (Wayback Machine) since the live REST API and SFTP access to the old Cloudways server are no longer available.

See archive/ARCHIVE.md for what is and isn't in that archive, and how to extend it later if Cloudways credentials become available.

Direction

This project is intentionally simple: a static Astro site, data in JSON, regenerate on demand. Once traffic builds, the plan is to monetize via affiliate links (Infinite Discs, Marshall Street Disc Golf) and display ads. Until then, this is a low-overhead build that costs nothing to host.
